Engagement & Exam Preparation

Principal focus of the project

This project focused on developing key fundamental skills students traditionally found difficult to master in preparation for their exams.

Areas of learning
What is this about and what were the main findings?

The project targeted achievement gap groups, where the challenge was the greatest. In maths, Kerboodle - an online, interactive textbook resource - was used to enhance TLA, particularly of measure, shape and space (MSS). In English, online resources and visualiser were used to improve TLA around the creative writing process. This included the use of visualisers, screencasting, and audio-visual feedback software. The project reported that the use of the technology had greatly assisted in preparing students for their examinations, and by increasing their confidence in their ability to improve.
