How far can innovative methodologies support 16-19 learners and adult learners to achieve English and Maths GCSE?

Principal focus of the project

The project's focus was to share and test ideas for new and effective ways to support active learning with a focus on motivation and dealing with stress & panic

What is this about and what were the main findings?

The practitioners concluded after consulting with their learners that a combination of focusing on developing growth mindsets, and the use of comment-only marking would be appropriate responses to issues of motivation, stress & panic. The responses to these changes were largely positive in terms of their effect on confidence and preparedness
