Principal focus of the project

The project focused on training engineers to become skilled assessors in order to participate in workplace assessments of apprentices, and updating the knowledge and skills of teaching staff with current practices.

What is this about and what were the main findings?

The project led to improved understanding of the relationship between engineering theory and actual practice for students, greater and more varied work experience placements, new teaching and assessment practices for apprentices, and closer relationships between staff and employers all of which informed the design of a new Engineering facility and its equipment.
