The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills has launched Online basics – short courses to help people who lack digital skills to build up the ICT skills they need to get online. People can get trained in how to use a keyboard and mouse, access the internet and stay safe online.
JISC RSC Northwest's annual event on the theme of Technology Enhanced Assessment took place on 22 June and attracted 250+ delegates. It drew on a wealth of knowledge, information and experience to put the use of technology for learner assessment (formative and summative) in the spotlight.
A new national adult numeracy initiative has been launched by NIACE, unionlearn and National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics, which will see volunteers helping family, friends and colleagues with maths.
