Excellence Gateway
Includes tips for teachers new to teaching adults and ideas and resources for communicative language teaching in the target language.
This handbook was the product of an Action Research Project, which I co-ordinated in my capacity as a subject learning coach at Oaklands College in 2008. It includes tips on keeping students interested, structuring sessions, using the QIA resources, differentiation, personalised learning, learning styles, making resources and embedding e-learning. It also covers the following aspects of language teaching in detail: why use the target language? communicating with very little language, getting students talking and supporting students between classes. Teaching resources in French, German and Spanish with a wide range of visual stimuli can be found on the Let's communicate website at http://oaklearn.oaklands.ac.uk/lets_communicate/
