Third Sector National Learning Alliance

About Third Sector National Learning Alliance

The Third Sector National Learning Alliance (TSNLA) is a growing, national alliance of voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises involved in learning and skills. Third sector provision is recognised as having ‘reach’ in terms of supporting those furthest from learning and employment.

Support and services

We are a membership organisation by subscription. We also support the whole of the third sector learning and skills sector.

The TSNLA promotes the work of third sector organisations providing learning and skills. We do this by:

  • acting as a ‘voice’ for third sector providers;
  • enabling the exchange of information and good practice;
  • promoting and advancing third sector learning provision; and
  • promoting and disseminating research into learning and skills provided by the third sector.

The TSNLA website is open to all who are interested in third sector learning and skills provision: http://www.tsnla.org.uk/

For members we have a dedicated email network through which we circulate updates on current activity e.g. the representational work, policy and funding developments, good practice etc. We also have a wider email network of around 650 organisations and networks who have a keen interest in third sector learning and skills and the difference this makes in society.

The TSNLA produces case studies e.g. collaborative partnership and contracting and host events which are open to both members and all interested in our work e.g. the Strategic Dialogues initiative.

We represent third sector learning and skills providers at a range of advisory and consultative forums and channels e.g. Skills Funding Agency and YPLA, LSIS Minimum Contract Level Stakeholder Group, BIS Informal Adult and Community Learning Stakeholder Group, FE National Improvement Board etc.

The TSNLA is able to take issues to a high level – including meetings with John Hayes – Minister for FE, Skills and Lifelong Learning.
