Responses to common technical issues are also listed below. If you have any other queries or issues related to the Move On website, please send an email to: info@move-on.org.uk
Troubleshooting issues with the mini-test (‘Test your skills’)
It may be a problem with the set up of the internet options on your computer. If you are using Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet options > Privacy, and choose ‘Medium’ or ‘Medium High’ (or select ‘Sites’ to override the cookie handling for the Move On web site). If the privacy setting is too high then cookies for most web sites will be blocked and the mini-test in ‘Test your skills’ will not pop up on your screen.
If the mini-test pops up but the screen is blank then you might need to install Flash Player on your computer.
Troubleshooting issues accessing the online practice materials
If you can’t open an online practice test or progress check, it may be a problem with the set up of the Internet options on your computer. If you are using Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet options > Privacy, and choose ‘Medium’ or ‘Medium High’ (or select ‘Sites’ to override the cookie handling for the Move On web site). If the privacy setting is too high then cookies for most web sites will be blocked.
If the practice test or progress check pops up but the screen is blank then you might need to install Flash Player on your computer.
To download a practice test or progress check from Move On website, please select the relevant test. A box should pop up asking if you want to run or save the test. Choose ‘Run’ and follow the instructions to install the test on your computer. You should then be able to run the test from the ‘Start’ menu on your computer. The paper-based practice materials are available to download from the Move On website.
Issues with Internet Explorer 8
There is a compatibility problem with Internet Explorer 8, in that there are layout issues that affect certain screens in the practice tests and hot topics. It has been reported, but in the meantime we suggest you use an alternative web browser such as a later version of Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
