Funding calls for those working in the further education and skills sector are issued throughout the year from a wide range of agencies and organisations. Information about new funding opportunities we are aware of will be made available in the Stay up to date section.

Links to organisations which publish funding opportunities are provided below.

LSIS operates a number of funds designed to give sector providers support for innovative projects with the potential to secure significant improvements in sector practice or performance. In addition, throughout the year a range of funds is offered for specific areas of work or research. Current funding opportunities are published in the funding opportunities section of the LSIS website. Tenders for services commissioned by LSIS are also published on the LSIS website.

JISC funds a wide range of infrastructure, services, innovative projects and studies. A large number of these originate from a successful response to a grant funding call (previously known as a JISC Circular), inviting eligible HE and FE institutions to bid for project funding. JISC also procures other activities (usually studies such as an evaluation or market research), through invitations to tender which are available to other organisations to bid against. Funding calls are published on the JISC website.

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), working with the Skills Funding Agency, launched the Growth and Innovation Fund (GIF) in March 2011. The outcomes for Round 1 were announced in October 2011, and a second round is due to be announced late in 2011. Details of the GIF are available from the UKCES website.

Providers interested in the Skills Funding Agency’s minimum contract level developments may also find the support for collaborative contracting section of the Excellence Gateway useful.
