A Northern and National CETT

HUDCETT: The University of Huddersfield with 50 partners from the Learning and Skills Sector (LSS) and Higher Education.

The University (and its predecessors) has had a long history of successful, large-scale collaborative partnerships in LSS. This year it celebrates 60 years of provision of teacher education for the FE sector. The PCET Consortium delivers in-service programmes to 2,500 trainees each year across the north of England through 30 partner colleges; the University is responsible for curriculum development and quality assurance of these programmes, and for pre-service PCET teacher education.

Members of HUDCETT include Work Based Learning (WBL) and Adult & Community Learning (ACL) providers, colleges, and various organisations who can be regarded as stakeholders in teacher education and training. The latter include awarding bodies and organisations specialising in aspects of CPD for teachers. Additionally, six universities across the country are members of ‘Associate Online' - a Moodle-based facility providing subject specialist support to trainees (such as e-mentors and e-tutors for those trainees who are geographically dispersed or who teach a minority subject and are unable to find a suitable mentor).
